In our previous blog, we have seen how to create territories<\/a> quickly from map. We also saw how to create multiple territories<\/a> with a single click. After creating territories, managers can also align<\/a> the territories to achieve a proper distribution for the field team. This way, Maplytics within your Dynamics 365 CRM makes it much easier to create and align the territories for the field professionals.<\/p>\n

Once the territories are created, they need to be assigned to records based on location of the records. To assign territories to the records, user can select records and run the Territory assignment workflow<\/a> for any OOB or custom entity. \u00a0However, this can be tiresome to manually select thousands of records and run the territory assignment workflow within Dynamics CRM. To make it easier to assign territories for a large number of records, Maplytics provides \u2018Batch processing tool\u2019 which ensures the assignment of territories to multiple records in a single batch. This tool comes along with Maplytics solution within the zip folder. One can easily\u00a0download<\/a>\u00a0the zip folder for Maplytics solution for their Dynamics 365 CRM version and extract the zip file to get the Batch processing tool.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s discuss how to use the Batch processing tool to assign the territories to multiple records of Dynamics 365. To run the tool, Extract the Batch Processing tool .zip file and run the BatchProcessingTool application.<\/p>\n

\"Territory<\/p>\n

To start territory assignment, user needs to follow the steps mentioned below:<\/p>\n

Connection Details<\/strong><\/h3>\n

User needs to enter the following CRM details on this screen:<\/p>\n

Deployment model<\/strong>: The user can select either of the options On Premise, IFD and Online depending on their deployment.<\/p>\n

CRM Server<\/strong>: Enter the serverurl of CRM. For example, http:\/\/<servername>:<port><\/em><\/strong> or https:\/\/<orgname>.crm.dynamics.com<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Organization<\/strong>: If the deployment model is \u2018OnPremise\u2019<\/em><\/strong> then the user has to specify the organization name. For other deployment models, leave this blank.<\/p>\n

When the user enters the server URL \u00a0in case of On-Premise deployment model, the organization list will be auto-populated with the organizations available in CRM. Select the organization for which Maplytics already has been installed.<\/p>\n

Username<\/strong>: Username of a valid CRM user. For example,<\/p>\n

Password<\/strong>: Password of CRM user.<\/p>\n

Choose Option<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Here, the user can make a selection whether they would like to run this tool for Geocoding (Batch Geocode) or Territory Assignment. The user can select \u2018Territory assignment\u2019 to run this tool for the same.<\/p>\n

Entity Selection and Filtering<\/strong><\/h3>\n

User can select entities and the respective views and \u2018Add\u2019 them so as to assign territories to the records within the selected entity and views:<\/p>\n
