In this blog, we will be learning how to add our second PCF control \u2013 Map Edit control for record. In our earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/maplytics.com\/blog\/understand-your-target-market-using-maplytics-map-view-pcf-control-for-datasets-within-dynamics-crm-and-powerapps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blog<\/a>, we discussed the functionality of this control.<\/p>\n<p>We learnt that by adding this control on an any record form, user can view the respective record plotted on the map. User can modify the plotted location for the record by simply dragging the pushpin around, dropping it on the required\u00a0location and clicking on update button. This gives the user the choice to update only the Latitude\/Longitude records or both the address and the Latitude\/Longitude records. Users can also type in the address in the space provided and click on the update button to update the Address and the geo-coordinates for the record.<\/p>\n<p>Let us see how to add this control to any record within Dynamics CRM.<\/p>\n<p>To add the control to a field within a record form, user can follow the steps mentioned below:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><em>Go to Settings &gt; Advanced Settings &gt; Customizations &gt; Customize the System &gt; Components &gt; Entities &gt; Required Entity <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Here, we have taken the Contact entity for an instance. <strong><em>Within Leads, go to Forms &gt; Main Form &gt; Select a field &gt; Change Properties <\/em><\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17074&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_border&#8221; border_color=&#8221;black&#8221; onclick=&#8221;img_link_large&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong><em>Note: The data type of the field on which user needs to add control should be \u2018Single Line of Text\u2019.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. <em>Go to Controls &gt; Add Control &gt; Select Map Edit Control for Record &gt; Add<\/em><\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17071&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_border&#8221; border_color=&#8221;black&#8221; onclick=&#8221;img_link_large&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong><em>Note: Please uncheck the option of \u2018Display label\u2019 within the field properties for better visualization.<\/em><\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17072&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_border&#8221; border_color=&#8221;black&#8221; onclick=&#8221;img_link_large&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]3. User can choose to allow the control on Web, Phone or Tablet. Click on <strong><em>\u2018OK\u2019 &gt; Save &amp; Publish. <\/em><\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17075&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_border&#8221; onclick=&#8221;img_link_large&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]4. User can open any record of the entity to view this control added on the field.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17073&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_border&#8221; border_color=&#8221;black&#8221; onclick=&#8221;img_link_large&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This way, user can add this control over any entity record form and can visualise the respective record plotted on the map.
