It helps businesses to understand the social, economic, and demographic conditions and analyse and expand their business to different regions in a much robust way. With the help of the Overlay feature within Maplytics, user can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maplytics.com\/visualize-census-data-on-map-within-microsoft-dynamics-365-crm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">plot Census data<\/a> provided by Maplytics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As we are already familiar with the \u2018license registration\u2019 section for Maplytics, we have a \u2018configure\u2019 button which helps the user to create Entity maps dashboards within Dynamics CRM. Here we have added a new section for configuring census data where we provide census data for USA by default. You can also plot your own census data as well on a map. To configure census data within Dynamics 365 CRM, user has to follow the steps mentioned below:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Go to Settings &gt; license registration &gt; Configure &gt; Census data<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>User can select the default Census data available and click on \u2018Proceed\u2019 to configure the same.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7568\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maplytics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/1Expand-your-business-reach-by-configuring-and-analyzing-Census-data-within-your-Dynamics-365-CRM.png\" alt=\"Expand your business reach by configuring and analyzing Census data within your Dynamics 365 CRM\" width=\"759\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This configuration will save the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maplytics.com\/features\/analyse-multiple-layers-data-using-overlay-feature-within-dynamics-365-crm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Census data shape files in the Dynamics CRM<\/a> entity of Territories just like the shape files are saved in order to plot it on the map.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7569 alignnone\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maplytics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/2Expand-your-business-reach-by-configuring-and-analyzing-Census-data-within-your-Dynamics-365-CRM.png\" alt=\"Expand your business reach by configuring and analyzing Census data within your Dynamics 365 CRM\" width=\"451\" height=\"455\" \/><\/p>\n<p>User can go to the territory map preview to see how the census data would look on the map.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7570\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maplytics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/3Expand-your-business-reach-by-configuring-and-analyzing-Census-data-within-your-Dynamics-365-CRM.png\" alt=\"Expand your business reach by configuring and analyzing Census data within your Dynamics 365 CRM\" width=\"754\" height=\"546\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To augment the census data analysis, we have added the options to configure the data for the census.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Configure census data<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To configure the census data user can go to the configuration section in the territories. User can configure the data based on their preference for visualization. User can configure the Summary attribute, Hover attributes, Data grid attributes, and Categories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Let\u2019s take an example of a use case for an organization to understand the use of configuration and visualizing the configured Census data on a map. Stella, the owner, her business of kids clothing\u2019s has various stores in Indiana and Ohio, USA. Now she wants to expand her business into new markets around. Now, let us see how Census data would her help to decide the best market for opening new stores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From the default census data files, she would be using the Census data \u2013 States in the USA. To configure it, she would follow the steps mentioned below:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Go to Settings &gt; Territories &gt; Census data &#8211; States in USA &gt; Configuration<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Attributes configuration<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Summary Attributes: <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">User can select the attributes to show on the Summary card shown on the click on the regions in the census data\/shape file plotted on the map. Stella selects the attributes \u2018Names\u2019 and \u2018Population\u2019 to view the same in the summary card.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hover Attributes:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">User can select at a maximum of 6 attributes that will be shown on the hover on the regions in the census data\/shape file plotted on the map. Stella selects the attributes for \u2018Population under 5 years\u2019, \u2018between 5 to 9 years\u2019 and \u2018between 10 to 14 years\u2019.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Data grid Attributes:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">User can select the attributes from the census data\/shape file to be shown as columns in the data grid in Detail map. Stella selects \u2018Name\u2019, \u2018Population\u2019, \u2018Area_Land\u2019, \u2018Population under 5 years\u2019, \u20185 to 9 years\u2019 and between \u201810 to 14 years\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7571\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maplytics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/4Expand-your-business-reach-by-configuring-and-analyzing-Census-data-within-your-Dynamics-365-CRM.png\" alt=\"Expand your business reach by configuring and analyzing Census data within your Dynamics 365 CRM\" width=\"1070\" height=\"251\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Category configuration<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">User can create categories for the attributes in the census data\/shape file with various ranges for the data. Some of the categories are available by default. Stella\u2019s primary market is of kids of the age of 5 to 9 years. So, within Category configuration she selects the category for the population of 5-9 years and configures it to get the desired colours for various ranges of the data.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7572\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maplytics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/5Expand-your-business-reach-by-configuring-and-analyzing-Census-data-within-your-Dynamics-365-CRM.png\" alt=\"Expand your business reach by configuring and analyzing Census data within your Dynamics 365 CRM\" width=\"1071\" height=\"262\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now that she is ready with the configured census data. She now plots the Census data so as to analyze the same to find a potential market where she can open new stores for her business.<\/p>\n<p>To plot the census data, she can follow the steps mentioned below:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Open the Detail map &gt; Overlay &gt; Shape files &gt; Census data \u2013 States in the USA<\/em><\/strong>. She can easily visualize that the highest population of kids of age between 5 to 9 years exists in Pennsylvania which is a potential market for her business.
