After the successful implementation of new features and Mobile User Interface updates in the month of October, Team Maplytics is excited to announce the launch of additional new updates in the month of November 2022.

Maplytics advocates a seamless integration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM with Maps and empowers businesses with the power of optimized routes to attend pre-scheduled client meets, within balanced sales territories, amidst Real-time tracking and other features. The response received to the last upgrade from our Partners and Clients alike pumped up our spirits to endeavor more and deliver better. Let us have a brief look at the release of Nov 2022!

Address Autosuggest Control

Maplytics’ earlier releases included 4 established PowerApps Component Frameworks, namely the Map View Control for Record, Map Edit Control for Record, Map View Control for Dataset, and Detail Map Control for Dataset.

The Users can add custom controls on fields or grids within Dynamics CRM. These custom controls help users to view the respective records on map on the record form or the entity grid without switching to any other screen. This enhances the user experience while working with views and individual records.

With the new release, a new control has been added to the list, named the Address Autosuggest Control. The users can add this control on any of the fields with the Data type ‘Single Line of Text’ of the record to view and get auto suggestions of addresses while typing the respective fields. Users can select the required address and get that address auto-filled within the fields.

The data type of the field on which the users need to add control should be ‘Single Line of Text’. While adding the control, the users need to choose the required address fields. While the users use Auto-suggest control, the respective addresses that are selected here will be auto-filled. Users can choose to allow control on the Web, Phone, or Tablet.

The users can open any record of the entity to view this control added to the field. The users need to enter the address and based on the entered keywords; it will provide suggestions for addresses.

Multiple Datasource

While plotting data on the Map users were able to select up to 3 entities from a Datasource dropdown list along with the corresponding views.

With Nov 2022 release, users can now select multiple entities using the ‘+’ button. This allows for viewing Dynamics CRM data across Entities in a single view on the map. After selecting multiple entities, users can click on ‘Search’ button to plot records for the selected entities. This helps the users to visualize multiple entities on a single map.

Enhancements to Category Donuts

In the last release, we introduced category-based donuts in the Dashboard view. Using them, the percentage of the records falling into each of the categories could be viewed. In the first dashboard, the appointments for the team are plotted which have been categorized based on the status of the appointments. As seen, 17.50% of the total appointments were canceled, 47.50 % of the total appointments were completed and 35 % of the total appointments were scheduled.

In this release, we have upgraded these donuts with a few more intricacies. Let us check them.

Hide Donut Panel

The Donut Panel can be hidden as per the Users’ requirement by clicking on the arrow at the extreme right of the Panel. The same can be clicked again to expand the hidden panel and put it on display.

The record pushpins displayed over the Map can be filtered out using the donuts. In the Dashboard below, when clicking on the Donut displaying the percentage of ‘Completed’ appointments, the pushpins on the map are filtered out to show only those Appointment records that belong to the ‘Completed’ Category. The rest belonging to Scheduled and Cancelled are hidden. Similarly, when clicking on the ‘Status’ donut, the filter will be reset and record pushpins belonging to all categories of Appointments i.e. all appointments are displayed.

Enhancements to Mobile User Interface

The last upgrade saw remarkable enhancements to the User Interface of Maplytics used within the Dynamics 365 Mobile App. This time around, similar upgrades have been applied to the feature of Point Of Interest Location. Cool eh!

The UI now spots the brand’s new colors and has a smart appearance with smooth functionality. The contextual menu too has been upgraded with the POI feature.

Contextual Menu

To get a contextual menu on the map, long press anywhere on the map. Pushpin Contextual menu provides many additional options. These options provide commonly used features in Maplytics like Set as Current Location, Origin, and Adding to Route, etc. Upgrade Nov 2022 has a respectable inclusion of POI Location

Set As POI Location

This option helps users to set the center point for Point of Interest (POI) searches like ATMs, Restaurants, Airports, etc. Once this location is set as POI location, users can search for different POI around this location. Users can choose the icons or locations from the list of ‘others’ or enter a keyword to search for respective POI locations on map.

The UI now includes interactive imagery and relevant icons. The places can be searched using these icons and can also be searched by mentioning them in search bar. A pharmacist on the road, for instance, can search for nearby chemists by typing in the search bar and thus plot the nearby chemists on map to choose from.
